"What do you eat?"

I get this question A LOT to say the least. Before I give you the run down on our meals let me start by laying out a few guide lines for our food.
We only drink and cook with Reverse Osmosis water. Our water bottles are all BPA free, most of them being metal.
We freeze, store, and heat food and beverages in glass. I may occasionally freeze a piece of meat in foil for convenience. Of course all our beef  and pork is frozen in paper. No plastic!!
Nothing processed and I mean NOTHING.
All our meat is 'Happy' meat. This is my term for pasture raised, free range, get to be an animal, no grain feed, no hormones, no antibiotics just plain ole meat. The chickens we buy get to roam free, the beef that we buy is all grass fed in open pasture and the pork that we buy got to be pigs and roll in the mud. Needless to say we buy all our meat from local ranchers.
Our seafood is all wild. No farm raised fish!
We eat very little dairy. Cheese is more of a condiment. Any milk in the house is RAW milk.
Our eggs are all local and come from 'happy' chickens.
I try to buy all our fruit and veggies from local farmers. Of course this is not always an option. If I can't get it locally I like to buy my produce from Whole Foods. They have strict standards and will tell you where the food is from and how it was grown. Plus they have a big selection of organic items.
No GMO's! I try to stay away from genetically modified foods at all costs. Which means a lot of organic! A cool thing I just learned is that the Whole Foods brand 365 is GMO free even the non organics.
No grains and very little starches. The boys will get oatmeal or cereal occasionally but only a few times a week. Us adults get no grains except the occasional corn tortilla.
Cooking oils we use are coconut oil, Ghee and any fat that is rendered from our meats. Which means we use a lot of bacon grease and it is marvelous!!
All of these guidelines are thought out and done for a reason and most of those reasons are covered in the suggest resource section.
